Welcome to CESTER
CESTER is an research center developed through the Academic Exchange Program between Romania and Germany. It was founded
in 2001 with financial support of the German Academic Exchange Office (DAAD), Institute of Machine Tools and Production Technology (IWF),
Technical University of Braunschweig Germany, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. CESTER is certified and
accredited again in 2010 by the Senate of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (see here
).
Our vision
Our vision is to be one of the leading Romanian research centre in the robotics field which cooperates closely with the national industrial environment.
Objectives
- Development of fundamental and applied research within national and international excellence research programs in the robotics field;
- Development the courses for Master and Ph. D. Degrees;
- Cluster of Projects for Master and Ph. D. Degrees;
- Human resources and infrastructure development;
- Product oriented research & patenting of new robotic structures;
- Development of postgraduate package courses;
- Informing the scientific community about the achieved results;
- Development a closed cooperation with the national and international scientific community;
- Consulting service for the industrial environment.

CESTER is highly competent in robotics, mechanical engineering, and information technology.
Our expertise is focused mainly on modeling and simulation techniques and advanced control of:
- reconfigurable robots;
- microrobots;
- robots for medical applications;
- service robots.
